Congratulations to Ohaupo Sports agcentric Kowhai for taking out the 2025 Comrades 50th Jubilee Shield for Sportsmanship.

This Shield is awarded to a team who demonstrates good sportmanship throughout the season. This takes into account:

• Attitude and Behaviour – on and off the court.
• Supporting your team-mates and opponents.
• Sideline ettiquette from the team AND supporters
• Supportive of umpires

"Kowhai is a team made up of passionate netball players, many of whom are mothers with years of experience both on and off the court. These women have not only played the game for a long time but have also contributed as coaches, umpires, and PCPs (Player/Coach/Parent) throughout the years.

They play fair, but hard—bringing competitive energy while always upholding the spirit of the game. Kowhai players are known for their ability to laugh at themselves and enjoy the game, but they also display strong leadership and sportsmanship. On more than one occasion, they’ve been seen coaching and encouraging younger opponents during matches, embodying what fair play and good sportsmanship truly mean."
