Email to Clubs and Schools - 22nd February 2025 - Getting Ready for 2025 Netball!

Hello Fellow Netballers!

The time is almost upon us for when our season begins!

This email is just a quick one to let you know of the upcoming dates and some other pertinent information.

Did you know…..

  • Premier and Premier Reserve Grading - teams will be using the MyNetball Manager app for scoring as there are no bench officials during grading.  Please ensure there is at least one person available to score for each of the grading games.  Saturday teams will use the app for scoring for the entire season.  Information for this can be found here: Paperplus Te Awamutu Netball Centre - My Netball Game Day App

  • For all levels…. Teams will not be considered to be entered into the competition unless all team conditions are met:

    • Umpire

    • Coach

    • Manager

    • Minimum number of players (7 for Prem/PR, 5 for all other teams)

  • Umpires may only be nominated for one team per grade

  • This year, teams at all levels (Prem/PR as well as Saturdays) will use the MyNetball Manager app to submit their team lists prior to their games

  • The grading format has slightly changed this year.  Check out the updated regulations on our website: Paperplus Te Awamutu Netball Centre - Policies/Regulations/Constitution

Some quick FAQs…

  1. Can I register a new player during grading? - No.  Player registrations are closed the day before grading starts. These reopen after the completion of grading for the duration of the Promotion Relegation round.  Players may "Play up" a grade, but they may NOT "Play Down" a grade.

  2. We are registering for the Premier grade - do we need to nominate an umpire?  Yes, as per our regulations, all grades must nominate an umpire.

  3. We have 2 teams in A Grade. Can we nominate the same umpire for both? No - Umpires may only be nominated for one team per grade (eg A, B or C - not A1 and A2)

  4. My team is short of numbers during grading, can we we players from another team? Yes, players can “Play Up” eg from Prem Reserve to Prem or B Grade to A Grade.  Please note - this counts towards the number of games that the player plays for a higher grade team. A team is able to take the court with 5 players.

  5. How many games can a player “Play up”?  A player may only play 2 games at a higher grade.  The 3rd game, they will be deemed to be part of the higher graded team.  As an aside - the multiple games on each Prem and PR Grading nights for this purpose will be counted as one game per night.  Remember, if the player is on the team list, they are deemed to have taken the court.

  6. One of my players wants to change teams and play at a lower level.  Can she do this?  A written request must be made to PPTANC. The committee will then take all necessary factors into consideration, approving or denying the request.
